TONY WOODS – Headliner

Tony Woods is a one-of-a-kind comedic legend that is always in control of his audience.  A seasoned veteran in the comedy business, Tony is recognized not only by fans but by his peers as one of the best and most engaging comedians in the business.

Tony has a strong following in the US, UK, Australia and Europe. Born in North Carolina and raised in the D.C. area, Woods kicked off his career as an original member of Russell Simmons’ Def Comedy Jam on HBO and P. Diddy’s Bad Boys of Comedy, he is an all-round veteran and one-of-a-kind comic. His playful and cool demeanor, combined with sharp and mischievous subject matter, create a show that is unmistakably entertaining at every level. A natural entertainer, Woods understands an audience and encourages them to become part of his strange world.

Tony’s recent appearances Comedy Central Presents Tony Woods, Comedy Central USO Tour, and Comedy Central World Comedy Tour have made him a comic favorite of international renown. He has also appeared on Last Comic Standing, A&E’s Caroline’s Comedy Hour, Showtime at the Apollo, NBC’s Friday Night Videos, Just for Laughs, NYPD Blue, HACK, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, HBO Comedy Spot and Australia’s – The Footy Show.  For a Video Preview of Tony Woods:

Derrick Knopsnyder officially made his start doing standup comedy after his freshman year in college, at the age of 19, and he never looked back. Since then Derrick has become one of the fastest rising comedians in Pittsburgh, and is the youngest comedian to be a regular feature act at his home club, the Pittsburgh Improv.

Being a young comedian, Derrick uses his boyish charm and quick wit to connect with audiences all over, but it’s his awkwardness that keeps them laughing all through the night, making him a fan favorite wherever he takes the stage. In 2010, Derrick started out with a dream of being a standup comic, and four short years later he’s living that dream. Since then he has had some success in the comedy industry, such as winning The Stand Up to Cancer Comedy Competition in Huntington WV, and was most recently named a finalist at the Cleveland Comedy Festival.                                 For a Video Preview of Derrick Knopsnyder:

Irwin was the Featured comid in November and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. His comedy revolves around his family, relationships, religion, and society in general. He was raised in a farming community in upstate New York, by a single Jewish mother household. He blames his mother for his bizarre views on parenting, and his overall outlook on life. He brings an energy to the room that makes audiences laugh wherever he performs. His style can be described as a mix of David Brenner and George Carlin, with a touch of Don Rickles.

After last year’s Daisy Fund Fundraiser with the O’Donnells, TDF is bringing this dynamic and highly entertaining country music family back to the Capitol Theatre Center. Don’t miss them this time around – and for a great cause!  The Daisy Fund is dedicated to the memory of Daisy L. (O’Donnell) Evitts. Daisy’s family wanted to give back to the community that supported them and in 2008 founded The Daisy Fund. Funds raised go directly back to helping others. While The Daisy Fund has helped families out of state, we pride ourselves in keeping our money local. The majority of money is dispersed in the following Pennsylvania counties:  Cumberland, Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon and Juniata.

The Chambersburg Ballet, with a cast of over 50, including Guest Children, all students of the Chambersburg Ballet Theatre (CBT) School, presents Shakespeare’s funny yet poignant story, in a special End-Of-School-Year production. This blacklight ballet portrays lovers madly pursuing one another through the dark forest, clouds of mysterious and beautiful fairies and elves, drunken revelers, and an argument  between Titania and Oberon, Queen and King of the Fairies that is settled with a tricky twist of events. What ensues is a merry romp, with a tale told entirely in dance and pantomime to the famed classical music of Felix Mendelssohn. All’s well that ends well! A lovely variety of dances from classical and jazz genres precedes the main event.
